The end of an Empire, the rise of a Queen

Emory Fae enjoys leading a quiet, normal life. That is until two mysterious, and handsome soldiers show up at her apartment, and the life she knew is instantly whisked away. Memphis Carter and Brokk Foster come from the magical and war ridden world of Kiero, and upon Emory’s arrival she will discover she is the long-lost heir to the Royal Line and is thrown into the Black Dawn Rebellion with a dynamic role to ignite the rebels and reclaim her throne.

With both men being darkly woven in her past Emory uncovers hidden secrets, a power held long dormant, and will soon realize there are worse things than supernatural humans, love, loss, betrayal, and a Mad King.

Some things are better left in the shadows.

Guest Post:

How do you live a creative life? Write about things you do to stay inspired. Do you enjoy nature, art, exercise, photography? Write about how they help you become a better writer.

Thanks for having me! Balancing your creative life is super important. As we all know life gets super busy as adults, between work, personal life and hobbies! For me, having a daily dose of creativity is vital!

I think my favorite thing to stay inspired in my writing, is going for hikes. It is where I can refocus if I’m stuck in a spot, talk out plotlines, or just lose myself in nature. It is also my favorite thing to take snaps for my Instagram account as I see beautiful things that peak my interest. Have that decompression time outside, and getting in touch with nature is hugely relaxing for me.

I also love the fine arts. I went to college at Haliburton School of the Arts, for drawing and painting, and before writing I used run a side business and selling my art. Painting is a similar creative release to writing, you lose yourself in the process, the emotional connections and to personal relevance to the project, and through your expression.

I believe with any creative expression, you hone into your voice, and your originality. This as a writer, is important. It helps give you direction in your writing style, and what genre you enjoy writing. My favorite genre to read has always been fantasy, and through my creative expression I have found my voice as a fantasy writer. It is hugely exciting with any craft, to deepen your knowledge and continue your education, and as a writer, I look forward to this!
